Scholastic Reward
Since 1999 HHEC has sponsored the Scholastic Reward
Program.

We created the program to reward students for doing well in
school and to help them learn that government is accessible to
all.  Each year about 10-20 students are treated to a trip to
Washington, D.C., where they tour museums and learn about
American government and history.
Children from Las Americas visit the capitol building
with State Representative Gene Greene while visiting
Washington D.C.
Students get the opportunity to see major landmarks including
The Statue of Liberty
Meeting Representative Ortiz in Washington D.C. gave
students an opportunity to visit with law makers from their area.
